July 6, 2009 - Rolling Commenting Capability Closed

As of July 6, 2009 the rolling commenting capability against Version 1.0 of the NextGen Integrated Work Plan is disabled to allow for comment adjudication and review in support of the September release. The commenting capability will resume after the release of the next version of the Next Gen IWP.

May 4, 2009 - The JPDO opened “rolling comments” for the NextGen Integrated Work Plan (IWP)

Comments submitted will be considered for inclusion in the 2010 version. Please use the Joint Planning Environment’s (JPE) comment submission tool, which allows registered users to submit comments instantly. To provide comments for the IWP, you must register and create an active JPE account. Please visit the JPE Web site (http://jpe.jpdo.gov) for instructions on registering, submitting comments, and to view the comment adjudication results. March 5th, 2009 - Commenting Capability Now Available In the JPE

On September 30, 2008, the Joint Planning and Development Office released the Version 1.0 of the Next Generation Air Transportation System Integrated Work Plan (IWP). Beginning March 5, 2009, through May 1, 2009, you can submit comments for the next version of the IWP, which is scheduled for release in September 2009. To facilitate this process, the JPDO has established a comment submissions site within the Joint Planning Environment (JPE). The JPE is a Web-accessible tool that allows the JPDO to communicate NextGen planning information in a clear, concise, and consistent way. This application serves as a foundation for product and program management, development, and integration. Using the JPE, registered users are able to submit comments electronically and instantly. In addition, registered users are allowed to submit comments on behalf of another commenter. To provide comments for the IWP, you must register and create an active JPE account. Please visit the JPE Web site (http://jpe.jpdo.gov) for instructions on registering, submitting comments, and to view the comment adjudication results. Please note that comments received after May 1 will be considered for the next version. October 28, 2008 - JPDO Releases the NextGen Enterprise Architecture FY11 and the Joint Planning Environment v2.0 (JPE)

You may now access the Enterprise Architecture in the JPE by clicking the "Browse As Guest" button on the logon screen. After logging in, click the button labeled "Enterprise Architecture FY 2011" or you may use the left-side folder frame by navigating to NextGen-->Baseline-->JPE v2.0-->Enterprise Architecture FY11. Please take a moment to read important information detailing the linkages between enablers and operational activites.

As part of the JPE v2.0 release, the following data sets have been integrated and are available for viewing: Integrated Work Plan v1.0, ConOps v2.0 and NextGen Enterprise Architecture FY11.

September 30, 2008 - JPDO Releases v1.0 of the Integrated Work Plan

June 25, 2008 - JPE Version v1.5 Released - Graphical Analysis Capability

The ability to visualize dependencies and relationships between NextGen data elements is now available in the JPE using the new Graphical Analysis Tool. Registered JPE account users (this functionality is not available to users browsing the JPE as a guest) may use the Graphical Analysis Tool to assist in making critical path determinations, to visualize predecessor and successor relationships in a variety of layout formats, to perform a trace between two items in order to reveal an indirect relationship, and to reveal potentially missing or unnecessary relationships, as examples.

There is a set of short training videos available for using the Graphical Analysis tool that also further reveal the functionality available. It will be necessary for you to view the videos prior to using this tool. You may access the videos by opening the JPE help file and clicking the "Graphical Analysis Tool" topic, or you may open the videos directly.

After you view the videos, you may access the Graphical Analysis by logging into the JPE, and clicking the "Applications" menu item located on the left navigation frame, and then click "Graphical Analysis."


May 23, 2008 - JPE Version v1.0 Released

In an effort to better manage the growing public interest in the foundational documents for the Next Generation Air Transportation System (NextGen), the Joint Planning and Development Office (JPDO) has released the JPDO NextGen Joint Planning Environment (JPE), Version 1.0. The focus of the initial release is on presenting an integrated view of the NextGen Enterprise Architecture, Concept of Operations, and the Integrated Work Plan

The NextGen JPE is a Web-accessible application which serves as a foundation for product management, development, and integration. This application allows the JPDO to communicate NextGen planning information in a more clear and concise way. Using the application, JPE users may search across all work products and view data by individual agency, data element type, or agency specific framework. Users also have the ability to view detailed reports, charts, and graphs, and online help is available as needed.
